Mom

I love this picture. That's my mom taking care of me when I had my Satchel.

So I was sitting at church today and some days the whole "I am getting divorced and my life is changing in such a dramatic way and I am overwhelmed with it all and just tired of the hard parts and feel guilty for not appreciating the great parts" thing kinda hits me, (got that?) and I just had such a longing to drive to my Mom's house and put my head in her lap and cry and not have to face all these adult problems. Once when Chris was away for a few months for Basic Training I was really feeling lonely for him, and I did just what I wanted to do earlier today. I cried it out into my mom's lap. And it all felt better afterwards. But I couldn't do that today. However, just thinking about it patched me up on the inside enough to finish the day. So I just wanted to let my mom know that when things are hard for me I know I can go to two people and they can buoy me up enough to get through it. Those two people are Jesus and my mom. Someday I hope I am that person for my own kids. I love you Mom!

Happy Birthday to My Baby!

My baby is two! And he has the attitude to match. But his birthday was so much fun. I made a Spiderman cake that actually turned out and we did presents. I am not really into big parties for my kids while they're little, so we just keep it to our own little family. Satchel is totally into cars and trucks so he got a couple toys along those lines. He loved it! The first pic is him playing the driving game with his Uncle Dave.

Blowing out the candles. He did it all by himself!

Such a sweet, smiley boy!

His Mac truck from Cars. He sleeps with it.

Spidey came out much better than I expected. Now I have to find a cake just as good for Eve's birthday this fall. I have set the precedent now for special cakes and she is already asking about a princess cake. Happy Birthday Satchel, I love you so much!
